My friend and trusted personal coach, Dr. Sharon Melnick, is conducting a rare event in NYC very soon. She's basically the Dr. Phil to the business world except she's better looking and actually has credentials and awards to back her up. :-)
Dr. Melnick asked if I knew anyone in the NYC area who might be interested in breaking down internal issues that hold them back from being at their personal best. And I thought of you, my readers.
I know many of you are scattered around the US and some around the globe, but there are a bunch in the NYC area. For that group, I wanted to give you a chance to jump on a really incredible offer to hear the good Dr. do her thing.
For those not in the NYC area, do yourself a favor and check out her blog http://www.sharonmelnickcoaching.com/
Time is running out to sign up so read this quick and jump on it if it works for you:
Here are just some of the things that will be better in your life within 2 months if you take this course:
· Walk into any room with a prospect or someone in a senior management position and feel confident that you are ‘enough’ and will say smart things.
· Talk to yourself positively and with self respect. You will move beyond all the ways your thoughts are negative, frustrated, worried, angry, etc. That feeling you carry around about yourself being ‘not enough’…you can kiss it goodbye, forever!
· You will no longer procrastinate on important tasks, and will no longer go in a million directions, feeling overwhelmed but not getting what you want.
· You will accelerate the growth of your business (see the testimonial of my client whose business is up 80% for the year) or put yourself on the fast track for promotion.
· Have an effective way of dealing with people who “get to you” and bring you down (boss, direct report, spouse, etc.) You will know how to get them to do what you want and how to not let them bother you anymore.
· You will be free of all the energy you spend ‘worrying about what other people think’ about you. You will feel more confident than you have ever felt about yourself - from within - not by having to get other people to approve of you.
· You will become clear on exactly what you want for your next chapter in your life, whether its continuing your current situation or changing to something that’s much more satisfying.
The course will take place 8 Tuesdays starting March 4th, from 6:30-8:30pm at a charming loft conference room on 5th ave and 23rd street. The course will be taped for anyone who needs to miss a meeting. Anybody who is not familiar with my work can listen in to the replay of the jam packed Preview teleseminar recorded last week. Link to the replay call from the registration page.
In the last few days, half of the seats have been taken, 7 seats are left. Act now! The first 3 people who register this week will receive a complimentary 30 minute private consultation with Dr. Melnick. Learn more here http://www.sharonmelnick.com/confidencezone/
Why did a participants in last year's course say: “It was life-changing for me...” Find out how you can move beyond your blocks at http://www.sharonmelnick.com/confidencezone/

A Rant on the Presidential Primaries & Your Business
How is your business effected by the presidential primaries? The answer should be it's not effected at all.
Let's put some things into perspective here. Who the president of this great country is and what party that person is from will ultimately mean very little to your business... unless you let it or use it as an excuse.
I can almost guarantee that you never give credit to the president when you are doing well so why should you use that office as your scapegoat for when things are slipping?
You shouldn't.
I'm not telling you that you shouldn't vote or that you shouldn't pay attention to what each person stands for. You should absolutely vote as it is your given right as a citizen of this country to do so and your opinion should be heard.
What I am saying though, is that you need to keep in perspective the fact that you have a lot more control over your business than the president does. Additionally, the odds are you're not in a business where an economic downturn really effects you. Unless you let it.
So, if the economy looks rough and a seemingly small business un-friendly president is on the rise just say "who cares" and keep on keepin' on. The world still moves on, the US is not going belly up and the economy is never as bad as it is played out in the news.
This is actually the time to be one of the smart business owners. Realize that as the scared business people hide in a corner and decide they need to take cover to save their business, it opens the door for you to aggressively grow your business through top notch client management/retention, great leadership and a highly effective marketing system.
If you're interested in making sure you are prepared for this, do yourself a favor and check out my "5 Weeks to Consulting & Service Business Success System".
So, let's find ourselves a small business friendly president, but rely on us to make our businesses a success.

The Effects of Microsoft Buying Yahoo
Unless you haven't been paying attention to the news, Mr. Gates is making a big play for Yahoo. Why? Because he's trying to take his brain power and combine it with the originators of pay-per-click advertising to beat down Google.
That's great news for all of us that use the power of Google's Adwords as part of our marketing mix. Will MS/Yahoo succeed in being the #1 source for PPC advertising? Well, probably not.
So why is this a good thing? Think of it this way: As long as they band together and make a play at becoming #1, it puts Google in a position to protect themselves. We win because this will loosen the strangle hold Adwords has on the PPC market.
Don't get me wrong. Adwords is a great resource and it will be for some time. This buyout though will just keep their heads from swelling too much and forgetting about who pays their bills.
So, if you are using Adwords, keep it going. If not, you really should give it a try. Just $1 a day is normally enough to test the waters. Let me know if you need any help.
