If My Business Does OK, Wouldn't Coaching Be a Waste of Time?

This video post is kind of big so I have it in 2 separate videos. Both are on this blog page.

The question I'm answering this time around is "If my business is doing OK, wouldn't any kind of coaching or business mastermind group be a waste of time?"

I guess this subject is a little bit of a pet peeve for me and that's why I spent over 10 minutes trying to put things into perspective for you.

The basic gist is you need to understand that even the most successful business people, sports icons or anyone else that you consider successful, has gotten help to get there. Some may not publicly say where they got the help or who they got it from, but believe me, that's how they did it.

If OK is good enough for you then getting help won't work anyway. To get help of any kind to do anything, you have to WANT it. Needing it is the minor part.

That's also the premise for things like marketing. Many people start a business based on what they think people or businesses need. And they could be dead right, but they have to also want it or you are working in vain.

Convincing people is not the business you want to be in and good coaches and advisors know this especially.

EVERYBODY needs help inside of their business whether starting up, trying to sustain a level that has been achieved, or when looking for their next horizon point to get to. That includes me too. And believe me, I get the help. No entrepreneur in any industry, nor any athlete in any sport is above this. No matter what level they are currently at.

Enough of my writing rant. Make sure you watch both videos to help you see the big picture on this very common question asked of me.

By the way, just asking this question tells me that a person really does want the help, but they are trying to get over some mental/ego barrier. The truly successful throw the ego aside and say "I will get to where I want to be and I'm not afraid to make it happen by getting help".

P.S. I would recommend that if you haven't gotten it yet, that you grab the free 6 Keys to Consulting & Service Business Success report on my website (at the top right of every page) and/or grab a copy of my new book which takes these keys even further. You can find the book on the lower right of this blog.

The report is a great resource and the price is right (free). As for the book, you can't get the information in there from my lips for the under $20 it sells for so you win again. You know what you need and you know if you really want it or not. Just go out there and get it!

I Just Need Help Marketing, Why Use a Mastermind Group?

Here we go again. I'm running late on getting these posts up. I've been very busy putting these videos together as well as getting ready for a big price change in my Consulting & Service Business Success System. (As of August first, it will be going up to where it should be. The Intro Price is coming to a close.)

For this post I'm talking about the age old problem that most business owners have. They think that the only thing missing in their business is well executed marketing. Although this is a big issue, marketing is only a piece of the entire puzzle to have a business that really clicks.

When you tie this into a coaching type of program or a Mastermind Group, these sources of education, planning and implementation become even more important. But many entrepreneurs still think that all they need is someone to tell them how to market their services and products, which makes them also think that any type of help with anything else in their business is a waste of time and money.

This couldn't be further from the truth, my friends.

Let's put the big picture in place: First off, if you already have a decent amount of clients you have already worked with, then Client Management is more important than marketing to new clients. It's the easy pickin's with a lot less work involved than getting new clients and allows you to not need as many new clients. Right?

Next, the main culprit that business owners get bit by is Time Management. Solving or at least lessening this problem would give them more time to market to new prospects and current clients. Oddly enough the biggest excuse I hear about marketing is not having the time to do it. Innnnnnnnnnnncredible.

How about Metrics and Financials? These are foreign or scary terms to many business owners but are the keys to effective marketing. Amazing but so true.

Guess what happens when your marketing really starts to kick in? That's right, you will need help from others so Employee and Contractor Management comes into the mix. I can't tell you how many businesses I've seen take a dive not long after big money started rolling in. Believe it or not, like many, they were ill prepared to handle the increased revenue and the responsibilities that come with it.

Since we're all highly intelligent people reading this post, I'm sure I'm getting my point across.

Either way, watch the video to secure my points and grab the tip at the end.

Catch you soon with a few more posts on this subject.

Mastermind Question: What's the difference between Mastermind Groups and 1 on 1 Coaching Programs?

Here we are again with another great question that often confuses entrepreneurs ready to get to the next level by utilizing a coach.

video

Any kind of coaching or use of an outside advisor is a great idea for advancing your business and staying at the top of your game but there are many choices in how you do it. Much depends on what your goals are as well as how you particularly respond to getting help.

Some people would rather the total privacy of 1 on 1 situations. Of course you will certainly pay for that kind of luxury but it's well worth the money for the results you get. On the other hand, some like a group setting for the camaraderie and networking with trusted individuals.

Don't forget how lonely it is at the top. A dedicated group can do wonders. It certainly does for me.

The beauty of a well run Mastermind Group is that you will have 1 on 1 opportunities and pay much less for it since it comes as a package deal.

There are more points than this and I've gone over them in this short video. So watch it now and get the quick tip at the end.

Mastermind Question: What's the difference between Networking Groups, Associations and Masterminds?

Here we are again with the answer to another really great question.

video

There are so many ways to connect with groups of people that can help you out in different aspects of your business that sometimes it's hard to choose which ones to go with. Knowing the difference between each and testing them out, just like with any other thing worthy of trying in your business, is the only way to do it.

For today, I want to give you some insight as to the difference between networking groups, business associations, and mastermind groups. Each one has its own purpose so knowing what those purposes are will allow you to better use your time and money when getting involved with them.

A combination sometimes works best but tracking their usefulness and ROI is crucial.

So take a look at this video and then take into account the tip you'll get at the end. I'm pretty sure you'll start to see what you should be getting from these different entities and how to get your best ROI.

Mastermind Question: If I am having money issues already, how am I supposed to pay for a Mastermind Group?

Well it seems I need to work very hard at getting these videos out at a rapid fire pace. I'm doing my best to keep up.

As with anything else out there to help you reach your business goals, a Mastermind Group or any other coaching does cost money. Let me take that back. Any coaching worth getting is going to cost you money. More times than not, you do get what you pay for and unfortunately some people need to prove that to themselves.

video

I have to tell you that in the past few weeks I have had 3 different people tell me they went and got some "free" advice from very well known "free" sources that will remain nameless here to leave even more frustrated than when they started. (I'll give you a hint: they both go by acronym names)

Maybe because they were the unique, hyper intelligent audience I'm used to and they were not ready to deal with, or maybe every business owner gets the same lame answers from them. I don't know.

Either way, I guess it really isn't their fault. I mean, how detailed are you going to get if you are an ex-rug company owner talking to a current technical business owner and you don't understand the question let alone want to give a pristine answer for free.

Anyway, our question and tip for today deals directly with the issue of understanding that you will never get all of your questions answered for nothing, especially from an expert. You wouldn't give away all of your knowledge for free, would you?

And the less money you have, the more you need to find a way to get it over to the important things like your business education and implementing things that will put more money in your pocket. RE: One heck of a ROI.

Mastermind Question: What if I don't have time to participate in a Business Mastermind group

I've been working diligently to get more videos together to answer the flood of questions I'm getting on Business Mastermind Groups.

video

I'm loving the enthusiasm and trying my best to answer the most prominent questions. It's getting tough with the window closing fast for getting in applications for the next set of groups I'm putting together.

There's a slew of videos still to get out in the next week or so but for today I've picked out the question: What if I don't have the time to participate in a business mastermind group?

Take the few minutes to check out the answer to this popular question and get the tip I threw in there at the end of the video. My gift to you.

With spots dwindling down, you may want to check out which group you fit and fill out the application to see if you qualify, you can follow this link: http://www.actionbusinesspartners.com/MastermindGroups.php

Year is Half Over- Mastermind Time is Here

Happy 4th of July! Well, at this time of every year I always know that the year is at the half way mark.

video

Time to take a well deserved vacation then look back to see what I've gotten done and get ready to implement everything planned for the second half. I always have my clients do the same and I want to make sure you are doing this as well.

Today I have a new quick video on Mastermind questions I've been answering as well as a few tips to go along with it. This time the question is "How do I know that Mastermind Groups work?".

I've also added in some tips on how to make ANY group you associate yourself with, business or social, work to your advantage while I explain how certain relationships actually can stagnate your personal/business growth or outright ruin it. Very interesting stuff you really don't want to miss out on.

Time is running low to get into this next set of Mastermind Groups. My Major League Group has only 4 more slots left as does my All Star Group. The MVP is closing up fast as well.

To see which group you fit and fill out the application to see if you qualify, you can follow this link:

Mastermind Question: What exactly is a Mastermind Group?

You have questions about Mastermind & Implementation Groups and I have the answers. I can't possibly stress enough how important it is to utilize the power of a Mastermind group for both your business and personal success.
video
I promise to do my best though through posting a series of video answers to the questions I have been getting through email and conversations with technology business owners.

You have enough stress on you to grow your business and it's already lonely at the top as a business owner. 1 is not only a lonely number, it's also a very dangerous one.

I often tell entrepreneurs that running your business (and life) as an isolated island is a very bad idea. If having a business coach/advisor to turn to 1 on 1 seems like something that is out of your price range right now, then a Mastermind group is the way to go. (It's also a great addition to any other coaching you may utilize as you will soon see)

If you pick the right group facilitated by the right person, you'll also find that the group coaching and educating format of a mastermind group will also contain 1 on 1 time in an affordable format.

The bottom line is that you can't afford to not take advantage of the speed, education and accountability that a group like this gives. Take a look and listen to this first video answer to mastermind questions and see what I mean. I welcome your comments and additional questions.
